The F5D4076 Gigabit Powerline HD Starter Kit uses Gigle Semiconductors mediaxtream device. Gigle's mediaxtream technology is built on HomePlug AV and extends its 200 Mbps maximum PHY rate to 1000 Mbps.
Because of the HomePlug AV base technology, Belkin's new adapters are compatible with HomePlug AV adapters.
Belkin's new adapter also incorporates Gigle's xtendnet technology, which the company says uses mesh techniques to improve overall networking throughput and extend the effective physical powerline network.
The Gigabit Powerline HD Starter Kit includes two adapters and is available now at an MSRP of $149.99.
